I have been a creative sort for as long as I can remember. The arts always appealed to me, though they were mere hobbies through most of my youth. I got seriously into comics around the age of 13, and by 15 I decided I wanted to be a comic artist, though I also wanted to be a singer. That lasted for about 4 years until some other things sidetracked me away from comics, namely being lack of money, my commitment to church and the fact I was drifting through life with no specific goals or destination.

At the age of 21, five years after finishing high school (yes, you read that right) I finally decided to go to college, though I still had no clue what I was going to do. I took computers because I never had one and thought it would be fun. It wasn't. But luckily, I discovered my love for writing via my English teacher who noticed potential in me. And that was it. I knew I wanted to be a writer.

I had lost the passion for art, though I still hoped to revisit it someday. I also never lost the passion to sing and somewhere along the way developed a passion to act. But life has seen fit to keep me from those goals as of yet for various reasons and through many setbacks. But writing is something I was able to do through it all.

Fast forward several years and I find myself still trying to break into comics as a writer and still with limited funds. Long story short, I started learning to letter so I could letter my own stuff and save a little cash in the long run. Turns out I really like it and have gotten pretty good at it. I've only been lettering for about a year and a half to two years now, but I've already worked on many projects. When you start to look at what each part of the comic creation process entails you start to appreciate all the effort and talent it takes to do each job. I learned lettering is an art, and the subtle ways it can add to (or take away from) a story is still amazing to me. I am thankful for yet another opportunity to put words to the page here at Hard Way, and I hope my small part helps to further the product as a whole.
