Hi, I'm Paul.
I grew up drawing along with Commander Mark when I was 6 or so,
and I was always a cartoon junkie. I "forgot" about art, more
or less, during junior high and most of high school, but remained a
fantasy and sci-fi geek, always. I never took an art class.
I went to college and majored in English literature, and it was
not until sometime late in that period that I really discovered the
wonders of the comic medium by seeing adaptations of some of my favorite
literary pieces. Namely, Michael Moorcock's Elric and Runestaff series,
and Mignola's early adaptation of my favorite novels of all time, Fritz
Leiber's Fafhrd and Grey Mouser books.
This was the point I decided that art made writing BETTER, and I
have been seriously devoted to learning comic and cartoon art ever
since. Books like "DC Comics Guide to Inking" and
"Dynamic Figure Drawing" have been most helpful, as well as
the brilliance of old Warner Brothers and Disney."
